Lantern Courtyard

This study reimagines a single-story residence through a restrained California Contemporary language rooted in material warmth, spatial calm, and layered privacy.

A board-formed concrete base and vertical wood slat enclosure establish a permeable courtyard edge that balances openness with residential intimacy. Simplified stucco volumes, softened landscape transitions, and controlled evening lighting reinforce a quiet architectural rhythm shaped more by proportion than ornament.

The result is a contemporary courtyard composition grounded in warmth, restraint, and the understated character of Southern California living.
