Quiet Thresholds
Interior Renovation + Residential Reconfiguration
Design Development Study · 2025
San Diego, California
This project reimagines an existing residence through the conversion of a former garage volume into a warm contemporary primary suite while refining adjacent kitchen and utility spaces into a more cohesive interior composition.
The redesigned suite establishes a clear and intuitive circulation sequence anchored by garden-facing French doors, layered natural light, and restrained material transitions that reinforce spatial calm and indoor–outdoor continuity.
Terrazzo, plaster, tile, and integrated lighting strategies were carefully balanced to create an interior language rooted in warmth, clarity, and long-term livability.
The result is a disciplined residential environment — functional in use, refined in proportion, and grounded in quiet architectural restraint.
